Engadi / Heromatic
I designed Heromatic's complete interface system, an industrial IoT suite for greenhouse automation: from the touch control of hoppers and chemicals to the physical device mockups.
The challenge
Engadi Costa Farm managed its greenhouses with outdated software that operators avoided using. They needed an industrial touchscreen system — the "Soil Mix System" — that could control substrate hoppers (coconut fiber, soils, compost), dosing of up to 12 numbered chemicals, conveyor belts and gates in real time, with AUTO/MANUAL mode and saved mix recipes.
The solution
I designed the complete system interface: touchscreen control panel with sections for Hoppers, Chemicals, Conveyors, and Lines/Gates; clear visual states (active, closed, processing); a custom icon library for each IoT component in the greenhouse; and physical device hardware mockups for system presentation and documentation.
The result
An industrial control system that replaced the outdated software, with an interface operators could use without extensive training, improving the efficiency and traceability of each produced mix.
